New Delhi, 10 Sep, (VNI) Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Honourable Rishi Sunak, Today, paid a visit to the esteemed Akshardham Temple in Delhi, accompanied by his esteemed wife, Akshata Murty.

The purpose of this visit stems from Mr. Sunak's attendance at the G20 Summit in Delhi, a gathering of eminent leaders from across the globe to deliberate upon some of the most consequential matters facing our world.

Stringent security measures were diligently implemented in and around the temple precincts, a precautionary measure taken to ensure the safety of all present. Following a session of devout prayer, Mr. Sunak promptly proceeded to Rajghat to join fellow dignitaries in paying homage to the revered Mahatma Gandhi.

During the course of yesterday, Mr. Sunak graciously shared his profound pride in his Hindu heritage. He articulated his deep-seated appreciation for his cultural roots and expressed his ardent desire to include visits to other temples in India during this diplomatic sojourn. Moreover, he and Mrs. Akshata Murty have scheduled a sentimental journey to revisit some of their treasured places
 in Delhi.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi convened with Mr. Sunak on the periphery of the G20 Summit proceedings yesterday. Their discussions delved into the intricate details of fortifying trade relations and fostering investment. This rendezvous follows closely on the heels of their dialogue at the G7 Summit in Hiroshima earlier this year, where they engaged in substantive discourse regarding the India-UK free trade agreement, advancements in innovation and science, and avenues to augment the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between our two nations.
