Two of the country's greatest sporting heroes, Leander Paes and Mahesh Bhupathi, became the first Indian pair to win a Grand Slam by beating the Croat-American pair of Goran Ivanisevic and Jeff Tarango 6-2, 7-5 in French Open men's doubles final
