Gangtok, Feb I8 (VNI) Sikkim Chief Minister Pawan Kumar Chamling has announced Rs 3 lakh each for the families of the 40 CRPF martyres who were killed in recent Pulwama terror attack . While strongly condemning this heinous crime, he said it is act of cowardice .He has also offered to sponsor eucation for brave personnel's kids. He said "If the Centre permits, the Sikkim government would also take responsibility for the education of the children of the martyrs so that they get quality education," he added
While addressing the annual Sikkim Against Addiction Towards Healthy India (SAATHI) meet CM Chamling announced total sum of 1.29 crore from the Chief Minister Relief Fund for this cause. He offered tributes to the martyred soldiers and deepest condolences to their families. He said "The Sikkim government announces Rs 3 lakh for each of the bereaved families.
"If the Centre permits, the Sikkim government would also take responsibility for the education of the children of the martyrs so that they get quality education," he added .At this function students also paid tributes to martyres. This humantarian gesture was widely acclaimed by students present over there Members of the Sikkim Assembly also paid tribute to the martyrs and observed two-minute silence as a mark of respect to them.VNI
