New Delhi 15 June(VNI) Bikaner, Kishangarh, airports are currently engaged in a bidding process, with new flights expected to commence soon, while airline companies have also shown interest in operating flights from Ganganagar airport.
The Airport Authority of India and the Ministry of Civil Aviation have included Bikaner and Kishangarh airports in Rajasthan in the bidding process to introduce new air flights, as part of the government's efforts to enhance tourism and connectivity. Discussions between the Rajasthan Government and the Ministry of Civil Aviation have been fruitful in expanding and developing these airports. The bidding process, which will continue until July 15, aims to attract more airlines to operate flights from these airports. It is expected that by August 15, companies will come forward to initiate additional flights, thereby improving connectivity between Rajasthan and other regions, promoting tourism, and facilitating air transport.
In addition, Mr. Dheeraj informed that Ganganagar Airport has been included in the Central Government's regional connectivity scheme, UDAN, which has garnered interest from multiple airlines. A joint inspection team comprising officials from the Airport Authority of India and the State Government will be sent to Ganganagar Airport to conduct a comprehensive assessment of all operational aspects.
Furthermore, Mr. Dheeraj mentioned that the Chief Minister's budget speech included a reduction of air traffic fuel to 2%, attracting aviation companies to Rajasthan and encouraging domestic and international tourists and travelers to visit the state.
Mr. Dheeraj also highlighted the ongoing work on the expansion and upgrade proposals for Jodhpur and Udaipur airports. The Chief Minister has written letters to the Central Government, urging for the initiation of international flights from these airports as soon as possible.
Regarding Rajasthan House construction, the Chief Minister, Mr. Ashok Gehlot, has written letters to the Chief Ministers of Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, and West Bengal, requesting land for the establishment of Rajasthan Houses to provide a homely environment for migrants of Rajasthan residing in these states. The Chief Minister's efforts to connect migrants with their roots are supported by initiatives such as the Rajasthan Foundation, which was established 20 years ago.
Recently, during the Investors Summit, the Chief Minister launched the Pravasi Rajasthani Policy, which emphasizes the construction of Rajasthan House to provide a sense of home to Rajasthanis living outside the state. Letters have been written to the concerned Chief Ministers to acquire land at concessional rates for constructing Rajasthan Bhawans in these three states where a significant number of migrants of Rajasthan reside
