New delhi, 7 July, (VNI) Despite his impressive performance in the IPL 2023, Rinku Singh's omission from the team caused dissatisfaction among the fans. However, there are reports suggesting that Rinku Singh and other talented young players may have an opportunity to play in the T20Is against Ireland in August, following their exclusion from the West Indies T20Is.
Media reports indicate that the selectors opted for an experienced lineup against the West Indies. Consequently, players like Rinku Singh, who performed well in the IPL, are expected to travel to Ireland, as the selectors prefer not to experiment with all the players at once.
Considering India's busy schedule and the upcoming Asian Games, the selectors wanted to gradually introduce new players to the team. Among the new call-ups, Tilak Varma and Yashasvi Jaiswal have been selected for the West Indies T20Is. Jaiswal has impressed with his batting skills in domestic cricket and the IPL 2023, while Varma has consistently performed well in the last two IPL seasons.
After the West Indies tour, India will host Australia for an ODI series before the ICC World Cup. Additionally, the BCCI is planning to send both the men's and women's teams to the Asian Games, scheduled to take place from September 23 to October 8 in Hangzhou, China.
