Mumbai, 08 july, (VNI) Adipurush's writer, Manoj Muntashir, has acknowledged his mistake and issued an unconditional apology for the controversial dialogues in the film that have hurt religious sentiments. Many critics and reviewers expressed disappointment, particularly with dialogues like 'Marega Bete,' 'Bua Ka Bagicha Hain Kya,' and 'Jalegi Tere Baap Ki.' Taking to Twitter, Muntashir expressed his remorse, stating that he accepts people's emotions have been hurt and extended his apologies with folded hands. He also invoked the blessings of Prabhu Bajrang Bali to keep everyone united and give them the strength to serve the sacred Sanatan and the nation.
However, Muntashir's apology has garnered mixed reactions from netizens, with some feeling that it is too late for him to seek forgiveness. The film Adipurush, directed by Om Raut, faced heavy criticism after its release. It is an adaptation of the epic Ramayana, starring Prabhas as Lord Ram, Kriti as Goddess Sita, Sunny Singh as Laxman, and Saif Ali Khan as Ravana. In response to the backlash, the makers of the film have revised the dialogues that received flak, aiming to address the controversy.
The controversy surrounding Adipurush also led to Manoj Muntashir requesting protection from the Mumbai Police, citing threats to his life. The police have provided him with security and are investigating the matter. The All India Cine Workers Association has written a letter to Union Home Minister Amit Shah and the Mumbai Police, demanding a case to be registered against the film's producer, director, and writer. Interestingly, the criticism and controversy surrounding Adipurush resulted in a resurgence of the 1987 Ramayan television show as disappointed audiences drew comparisons between the two.
