On this day, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) was also officially established. Since 1948, Olympic Day promotes fitness, sportsmanship, and the Olympic values of excellence, friendship, and respect. Events worldwide encourage people of all ages to get active and celebrate the global power of sports.
