12 Sep (VNI) A 70-year-old resident from Dorking, England recently struck lottery gold with a substantial prize of 10,000 pounds (equivalent to roughly ₹ 10.37 lakh) guaranteed for the next three decades. Doris Stanbridge is set to receive this windfall on a monthly basis for the foreseeable future. According to Ms. Stanbridge, this stroke of luck has imbued her with newfound inspiration to reach the impressive age of 100.
To mark her 70th birthday, Mrs. Stanbridge decided to invest in a lottery ticket worth a substantial sum. Reflecting on her journey to success, Mrs. Stanbridge revealed that she was at her residence with her trio of daughters when she happened upon some money spiders in both her home and garden. This serendipitous encounter prompted her to secure a Set For Life ticket through the application.
Over the weekend, Mrs. Stanbridge received an email notification from the National Lottery. Upon logging into the application, she initially believed she had won a modest sum of 10 pounds. To her astonishment, the message conveyed, "Congratulations, you've won 10,000 pounds a month for 30 years." Overwhelmed by disbelief, Mrs. Stanbridge hastened to her son-in-law's for a second opinion. There, she uncorked a bottle of celebratory Champagne in honor of her remarkable triumph. The following day, she received official confirmation from The National Lottery.
आ Mrs. Stanbridge expressed, "It still feels a bit surreal when I contemplate the win and the knowledge that I'll be receiving that sum every month for 30 years. It gives me a reason to stick around until I'm 100!"
Mrs. Stanbridge and her spouse, Keith, indulged in a new bed and an air fryer, and embarked on a delightful holiday in Cornwall with their extended family. Looking ahead, the jubilant couple intends to refurbish their residence of half a century and eagerly anticipate treating their family to an overseas vacation. Mrs. Stanbridge remarked, "It will be my grandson's inaugural flight. I've been eyeing a villa in the countryside complete with a pool and uninterrupted sunshine!"
