New delhi 04-05-2019, (sunil kumar ,VNI) There will be a swank residential complex-cum-shopping plaza in place of Great R.K Studio. Godrej Properties Ltd GPL has purchased the 2.20 acres (roughly, 100,000 sq. feet) RK Studio premises in Chembur, north-east Mumbai -- founded in 1948 -- which were damaged   in a major fire in  September 16, 2017

In 2017, a fire broke out in the studio during the shoot of reality show Super Dancer 2, which ended up destroying precious memorabilia, including costumes worn by actors such as Vyjanthimala, Nargis and Aishwarya Rai.

In total area of  2.2 acres, this project will offer approximately 33,000 square meters  of the saleable area comprising modern residential apartments of various configurations as well as a luxury retail experience," the company said in a statement.
