This move makes him the third individual of Indian descent, following Nikki Haley and Vivek Ramaswamy, to become a contender in the competitive Republican field.
In a Twitter post featuring a video message, 38-year-old Mr. Singh expressed his staunch dedication to the Republican Party and "America First" conservative principles. He highlighted his efforts in rejuvenating the conservative wing of the New Jersey Republican Party. Citing the necessity for resolute leadership to counter recent shifts and uphold American values, he revealed his pursuit of the Republican Party's nomination for the presidency.
According to media reports, the formal submission of his candidacy to the Federal Election Commission took place last Thursday, Alongside former South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley, aged 51, and millionaire entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy, aged 37, Hirsh Vardhan Singh joins the ranks of those competing within the Republican Party for the esteemed position. Among his competitors is the former US President Donald Trump, currently holding a lead in the nomination race despite ongoing legal challenges.
