Experts caution students against rising cyber crimes

New Delhi,Feb 13,(VNI) Experts have cautioned students against rising cyber crimes and said that to prevent occurence of such crimes, social media users should be fully aware of apprehensions of mis-suse of these platforms.They have suggested various solutions for prevention against such crimes
 
The Cyber Cell of Delhi University's Daulat Ram College organised yesterday its annual fest, ‘Encrypt’18’, in which experts suggested various solutions for prevention against such crimes.while talking part in a talk show  on a subject " Cyber Laws,Crimes & Security'  Mr. Rahul Tyagi VP and Training Head, Lucideus  spoke about the crimes related to hacking of mobile phones and debit cards. He discussed the three layers of back up and suggested various solutions for prevention against such crimes.
 
Dr. Sunaina Kanojia Associate Professor, Department of Commerce discussed the cons of sharing personal information on social media such as whatsapp and Facebook status. Ms. Vasudha Triphati  Digital India Foundation spoke about the vital importance of Social Security in today’s era. Cyber law expert Mr. Neeraj Arora discussed about various types of Cyber Crimes and  methods of cyber security.
 
Mr. Navneet Rajan,former DG police focused on the vital need to change the password for Facebook accounts as well as Bank accounts and discussed some types of passwords which should be avoided. later in an open house  general discussion  session enthusiastic audience asked many related queries from experts.
 
Earlier guests were  welcomed by Dr. Savita Roy, Principal, Daulat Ram College and Dr. Sushma Arora, Convenor, Cyber Cell. Dr.  Roy, along with Dr.  Arora (Convenor,  enlightened the students with their motivational address. In this annual fest various programes were organised.  an Inter-College Debate Competition on the motion, “The House believes that technology Giants such as Google and Facebook should be allowed to monitor users for the sake of better services” was also organised. An Inter-College Poster Making Competition on the topic “Cyber Stalking”was also aattraction of festival.VNI
