22 Sep, (VNI) In Chennai, a unique Ganesh pandal, drawing inspiration from ISRO's Chandrayaan-3 lunar mission, has emerged in Kilkattalai, captivating space enthusiasts. Commencing on Tuesday, the 10-day Ganesh Chaturthi festival is being celebrated with fervor across India, an occasion dedicated to honoring Lord Ganesha, the progeny of Lord Shiva and Parvati.
Images and clips circulating online depict the installation of Lord Ganesh idols in residences and pandals, a cherished tradition during this festival. Notably, one of the prominent themes this year revolves around Chandrayaan-3, India's triumphant lunar expedition.
In the Chennai pandal, a captivating scene unfolds where a Chandrayaan-3 rocket model is positioned adjacent to the Lord Ganesha idol. Remarkably, this miniature rendition emulates a rocket launch, complete with flames and smoke, creating a visually striking spectacle.
A post on platform X shares the video, accompanied by the caption, ''ISRO is yet to provide a statement at this moment.''
ISRO's official statement is still pending.
Online audiences have warmly embraced this imaginative concept, commending the designer's ingenuity. Reacting to the video, one user expressed, ''ISRO is bringing space technology closer to every Indian household. This is extraordinary and bound to inspire countless young minds. It's heartening to know that a small idea can spark monumental change. More power to #ISRO.''
Another chimed in, ''ISRO is scaling new heights.'' A third individual shared, "I anticipated rockets this Ganesh Chaturthi, but I envisioned simpler replicas. These are truly impressive.''
Beyond Chennai, numerous cities across the nation have integrated space-themed elements into their festivities, constructing pandals inspired by India's victorious lunar mission. Ganesh Chaturthi is characterized by the installation of clay idols of Lord Ganesh in homes and public spaces. The festivity, spanning ten days, culminates with a public procession carrying the idol for immersion (visarjan) in a river or sea on the day of Anant Chaturdashi.
