New Delhi 15 June 2025 (VNI) Suraiya Jamal Sheikh, popularly known as Suraiya, was a legendary Indian actress and playback singer born on 15 June 1929 in Lahore. Revered as one of the finest talents in Hindi cinema, her career spanned from 1936 to 1964. She acted in over 70 films and lent her melodious voice to 338 songs, leaving an indelible mark on Indian film and music history.
