Mohammed Rafi, born on December 24, 1924, is regarded as one of the greatest playback singers in the history of Indian cinema. Renowned for his unmatched versatility and soulful voice, he sang thousands of songs in Hindi and several regional languages during a career spanning nearly four decades. Rafi effortlessly rendered romantic, devotional, patriotic, classical and peppy numbers, making him a favourite of generations of music lovers. Some of his most iconic songs include "Chaudhvin Ka Chand Ho," "Baharon Phool Barsao," "Likhe Jo Khat Tujhe," "Yeh Reshmi Zulfein," "Aaj Mausam Bada Beimaan Hai," "Parda Hai Parda," "Kya Hua Tera Wada," and "Yeh Duniya Yeh Mehfil." He received the Padma Shri in 1967 and a National Film Award for his exceptional contribution to music.
