Jehangir Ratanji Dadabhoy (JRD) Tata, born on July 29, 1904, was one of India's most visionary industrialists and a pioneering aviator. Born to Ratanji Dadabhoy Tata and his French wife Suzanne Brière (Sooni Tata), he led the Tata Group as chairman from 1938 to 1991, transforming it into one of India's most respected business conglomerates. JRD Tata was also the founder of India's first commercial airline, Tata Airlines, which later became Air India.
