Jaipur, 13 april, (vni) The Chief Minister, Shri Ashok Gehlot, announced the formation of a medical college in the prominent agricultural district of Baran as a gift in response to the longstanding demand of its residents, as part of the budget announcement.
Citizens along with Annadata Kisan of Baran district will get a wonderful gift in the form of Medical College that would provide excellent medical and health services
Currently, the construction of the Medical College building is beginning to take concrete form.The medical college is being built on Melkheri Road in Baran.The current ongoing work involves constructing an academic block, boys' hostel, staff quarters, sports building, and boundary work, among other things. The establishment of the medical college is expected to broaden the availability of health services and bring benefits to the community. .
Baran district is a prominent agricultural district and dominated by the Saharia tribe. According to the District Collector Narendra Gupta t he state government is running various public welfare schemes to uplift the Saharia community. The medical college will be crucial in tackling malnutrition among Saharia children. Currently, serious diseases such as cancer and heart disease require patients to be referred to other districts, causing difficulties for the common man. The medical college will provide better medical services to all citizens, including Annadata farmers, and alleviate these problems.
Baran district will soon have access to treatment for super-specialty services like Cardiac, Nephro, and Uro diseases. Previously, patients had to travel to Jhalawar or Kota Medical Colleges, but the establishment of Baran Medical College will bring these services to the local community.
Baran Medical College is in progress, with construction starting on July 22, 2022, and set to be completed by January 2024.
The construction cost for the project is estimated at Rs 9912.48 lakh.In the second phase, approval for construction of Medical Education Hospital within Baran Medical College has been given, with work commencing on November 2, 2022. The hospital is estimated to cost Rs 91.53 crore and will have 240 beds
