New Delhi,April 23,( Shobhna jain/ VNI ) The African country Sudan is in a state of abnormal crisis, with the country on the brink of civil war due to the ongoing conflict between the army and paramilitary forces. The proposed merger of the army and the Rapid Support Force (RSF) is the primary point of contention between the two sides. Despite a ceasefire being declared, the violence has not ended, and the conflict has now spread to various regions across the country. Both sides are claiming control over different areas of the capital city, Khartoum. The situation is rapidly escalating, and there are no signs of resolution in the near future.
One Indian is Killed in violence. In view of the deteriorating law and order situation, PM Modi has directed emergency evacuation plans for 3,000 Indian citizens in conflict zones prioritizing their safety. The Indian Embassy has also advised them not to go out of their houses and stay at home for safety as the situation may persist.

Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Foreign Affairs released a list of evacuated citizens, which included 91 Saudi nationals and 66 nationals from 11 other countries, including India, Qatar, UAE, Egypt, Tunisia, Pakistan, Bulgaria, Bangladesh, Philippines, Canada, and Burkina Faso.
The power struggle between Army Chief General Abdel Fateh al-Burhan and RSF leader Mohammad Hamdan Dagalo (Hemedti) is centered around gaining control of the country. Interestingly, just two years ago, they were aligned in their efforts to overthrow the civilian government that was in power at the time. The conflict has become increasingly dangerous and unpredictable, with reports of gunfire and violence, and the Indian Embassy in Sudan has issued an advisory urging all Indian citizens living in the country not to move out from their homes. one Indian has already been killed in this violence. Government of India is planning to evacuate more than 3000 indians who are trapped in Sudan
The conflict in Sudan has claimed more than 300 lives of civilians till now with thousands more injured. The most profitable gold mines in the country are under the control of Hemedti and the RSF militias, which they use to finance their operations. Sudan's abundance of gold mines is a significant aspect of the violent conflict, contributing to the ongoing instability and unrest in the country.
Sudan is experiencing a humanitarian crisis, with thousands of people fleeing the country. It is imperative for both generals to prioritize the welfare of the nation and pursue reconciliation, negotiate, and establish a democratic, civilian government based on consensus. The current situation is likely to further destabilize the country and increase unrest if a resolution is not reached soon.VNI
