New Delhi/Ranchi 13 June VNI Md Ali Hussain had bid farewell to his family and left for Kuwait just 18 days ago, unaware it would be his final goodbye. His family, residing in Ranchi's Hindpiri locality, was devastated to learn of his untimely death in a tragic fire in Kuwait.
The youngest of three siblings and only 24 years old, Hussain had gone to Kuwait to support his family. His father, Mubarak Hussain, aged 57, according to media reports, recounted that it was his first time leaving the country. A job had been secured as a salesman for him. Such a tragic event was never imagined to occur within such a short span.
According to media reports, a fire broke out in a building in Mangaf, resulting in the deaths of 49 foreign workers, including around 40 Indians. Additionally, 50 others were injured. The fire occurred in a seven-story building, and most fatalities were due to smoke inhalation. Kuwaiti media reported that the fire originated in a kitchen.
The building, rented by the construction firm NBTC group, housed over 195 workers, primarily Indians from Kerala, Tamil Nadu, and northern states.
According to media , tears filled Mubarak's eyes as he shared that news of his son's death was received from one of Hussain's colleagues in Kuwait on Thursday morning. The devastating news could not be brought to his wife until the evening.
It is noteworthy that Hussain was pursuing a certified management accountant (CMA) course after his graduation. One day, he suddenly decided to go to Kuwait. Mubarak, who runs a small business dealing with vehicle tyres in Ranchi, expressed his only request to the Government of India: to help bring Hussain's body back to Ranchi.
